Commissioned by AKQA as part of a campaign for Het Nieuwsblad, we turned an ambitious idea into an eleven-metre Airbus A330 made from an entirely unexpected material: disposable fast-food packaging. Before the first box was cut, we translated the concept into a detailed digital design and allowed the client to experience the scale and proportions in VR. From there, we engineered and built the complete aircraft, carefully preserving the recognisable lines of the real Airbus while ensuring the structure remained stable and safe. Burger boxes, pizza boxes and technical know-how came together in one unmistakable eye-catcher.
